EC2 instances that are currently in a stopped state. Stopped EC2 instances can incur cost if they have attached Elastic Block Storage (EBS) volumes, or Elastic Network Interfaces (ENI), or present security risk if the system has been powered off and not had system or application level patches applied. EC2 instances not in use should be deleted to reduce cost and security vulnerabilities.
